Archives of Ontario
Project Description
The Archives of Ontario project involved the development of a new 130,000-ft2 archive facility at York University’s Keele campus in Toronto. The Archives of Ontario, one of the largest provincial archives in Canada, acts as the recordkeeper for the Government of Ontario and collects records of provincial significance donated by private individuals and organizations.
The new facility houses over $400 million in collections and features sophisticated mechanical and electrical systems that allow stringent temperature and humidity levels to be maintained within the vault areas. Substantial completion was reached in February 2008, on time and on budget. The facility is currently operational.
