Project Description
The Ministry of Government Services (MGS) New Data Centre project provided a major upgrade to the Ontario government’s IT support capacity. The New Data Centre is a 230,000-ft2, enterprise-level, highly secure facility which is intended to improve overall data-centre service quality and enable the Ministry of Government Services to provide client-focused, integrated, accessible and cost-effective services.
Construction of the facility was completed on time and on budget in March 2010. It was the first such facility in the world to receive Uptime Institute’s Tier IV certification for operational sustainability, an internationally recognized, third-party certification for the level of uninterrupted reliability of IT systems.
