Ottawa Light
Rail Transit (LRT)
Trillium Line
Project Description
The City of Ottawa’s Light Rail Transit (LRT) program was the first of its kind in North America. The project, delivered in two stages, involved the conversion of a bus transitway to an LRT service integrated into the city’s existing transit service, OC Transpo.
The scope of Stage 2 included the expansion of Line 2 (formerly the Trillium Line), a 19-km diesel rail service that connects 11 stations from Bayview Station just west of downtown to Limebank Station in the south of the city.
